what distortion does flea use on around the world?
boss bass overdrive odb-3
It's been asked before but never answered.
HOW DIES FLEA SET UP HIS ODB3?
well.. lets see..
he plugs the feed from his bass in the right side of the pedal.. plugs the line to his other pedals / amp(s) on the left side.. then he turns some knobs on it and then last but not least.. he presses the " on/off " button
it depends about equipment he uses.
If you have modulus flea bass, gk amp, and mesa boogie 2x15 cab than your set up question has reason

OK, for arguments sake, lets say that I do
would love to tell you but i can't find out anywhere i think it just muck bout till it sounds rite, i think he uses two odb-3's when he plays live so he dnt have to muck around with dials,
he uses the odb3 live... i had one.. have a modulus and a gk... wasnt hard finding the settings.
lol, mega thread bumping there!
you do realise we're talking about a boss pedal
On the album version, he used an old cranked up Marshall guitar amp head to create that insane distorsion.
I actually got an almost perfect recreation of his Around the World tone with my Little Big Muff. I'm not sure how much of this is due to my head/cabs/bass, though. With my Stingray through the Little Big Muff, it sounds almost exactly like the intro. Hope that helps in some way...
