Ric Toaster in Jazz Bass?

I just got a Classic Vibe 60's J and as per my usual drill I opened it up to take a look at how it's routed etc, and I discovered that the routing for the neck pickup is a perfect size for a Ric pickup.

I just happen to have a scatterwound toaster in my parts box, so I'm wondering if anyone has put a toaster on a J and how did it sound.

Also curious. Interested in routing a ric bridge pickup into a jazz bass between the two existing pickups... but I'd like to have an idea of what sort of sound that could produce first.

I had a 1972 Jazz Bass that I put a hi-gain pickup (sorry, no toaster) in the neck position back in the early '80s (a good friend of mine now has that bass), and I do have a recording of it. This is with both the hi-gain and the Fender bridge pickup together, going through a Furman PQ-3 into a Crown D150-A to a custom built cabinet with an Altec 421A.

BTW, in addition to the multiple bass lines I also played all the guitars except for the volume swell part that my friend who now has the bass wanted to play; he also played piano and one synth part (I played most of those, too).
