.. is KILLIN' me! I know the tone is in his fingers and his soul, but man , that Fodera he is playing is hurtin' me bad.
I would just about empty the crib for one like that.
    ( no, my F bass ain't going nowhere )

  2. I'm right there with you, brother.
    Wanna hold hands? :crying:

Well, its certainly a nice bass; but RB could play a wash tub and make it sing. Seriously, he'd make you gas for an SX if he played one.

Have you guys seen the video of him sitting in with the JP Big Band? He's playing a jazz copy, maybe a Pensa Suhr, and he kills.

AG, just throw some Bartolini dual coils in your F bass and go passive. That would get you right there as far as tone.....the playing is another story all together. That cat is IT!

The headstock looks like a Pat Wilkins bass to me, anyone who knows what bass this is?

i know Richard's tone is his heart- but the bass is smokin!
Mike- I checked out your video clip and your Fodera sounds like it's 20 ft tall!
you guys gotta get " Richard Bona, an African Tale " awesome dvd , available on amazon canada
Richard is God's gift to music.
My F bass has the tone now, the whole Fodera design is very cool, though.
    I can dream...

    Hey Adrian,

I just caught Richard at 55 Bar in NYC and that Fodera sounds inSANE through his Woods/Epifani rig. Much better than the Pensa fretless did that night (though it was pretty sweet sounding in its own right).

He's my new favorite I think, in the jazz realm.

    Best,
    Aram

PS - glad to hear you're recovering well!

Hey there Major! Yeah things are FINALLY slowing down on the job I started over a year ago. I will be at one of these GTGs again, I promise! Shucks -- I miss my NYC TB buddies. :(

Adrian come on over, Kevin and I will save you a seat at 55 next time AJ or Richard throw down in there!

    Cheers!

His tone, his playing, he's definitely one of my favorite things going on the jazz circuit right now.

That said, as far as tone goes, the best I've ever heard...EVER...has been every time I go see Anthony Jackson play with Wayne Krantz and Keith Carlock at the 55. His tone is absolutely KILLS!

Did you get to see him with the Meyer setup? Sometimes he uses a Trace rig they have there. Still amazing because it's AJ, but the Meyer rig is really something special.
