Rick 4001V64 Horseshoes

I have a problem with my 4001V64.
After removing the horseshoe pickup surrounds, I am not getting any sound from the pickup.
Could this be a bad ground? Or no ground?
All I did was remove the chrome surrounds and put plastic spacers in the areas where the screws go.
Are there any websites where there are schematics detailing the bridge pickup wireing.
I'm stumped...all the wires are intact.
The only thing I question is that one wire with a tiny metal cup on it's end popped out of it's hole in the paper bobin in the center of the pickup housing. Upon final assembly It went back in O.K.
Any help would be appreciated.
