A while back I read an article online by rick turner where he talked about "grounding loops" in guitars and basses and how to overcome these. He mentioned grounding all items to one point: "star grounding?"

anyone know where that article is?

I dont have the article, but star grounding means having all your grounds terminate at on point. An example, solder all your ground connections to the back of one single pot.

His idea was to ground to one point as close to the jack as possible. He said something about not grounding the pots, though. (??) Also something about grounding the shield separately?

Makes alot more sense coming from him than from me.

edit....found what I was looking for. Not rick turner, although he talked about it also.

Google search for: "star grounding" guitar or "star grounding" bass
