Hey bros. Did a search, not much came up. I just landed a 4001 84' And the actions a tad bit to high for my taste. The neck is straight with tuned strings. Nothing notacablely wrong. I understand rics are different then other basses action wise.

So whats the safest way to lower action a bit without getting fretbuzz?

    Thanks!

Are you sure its an '84? Every record I've ever seen shows the 4001 was discontinued in '83.

    Have you adjusted the bridge?

hmm if the neck is (99% dead) straight you only can lower the bridge...

but a rick needs a little buzz ;)
