Will a 1-piece pickguard made for a post '73 Ric 4001 fit a '90's Rickenbacker 4003 that had a 1-piece pickguard? I'm talking about ALL the screw holes lining up aka bolt-on.

    Doubt it.
  3. Necropost: how come all the aftermarket 4003 pickguards are 2-piece when 4003's come with 1-piece guards? Does anyone know of a 1-piece guard?
  4. Try this place:

I bought the neck pup mod from them for my long-gone 4003. It was pretty good quality, and I imagine their pickguards are as good.

I did have a couple made for me that would fit modern screw hole positions.

I had to replace the pickguard on my '80 4001.

I ordered a new one-piece 4003 pickguard from RIC around '05 or '06. All the screw holes lined up perfectly so it fits fine. The only problem is that the replacement isn't made from the same material as the original so it doesn't exactly match the truss rod cover. You'd never notice unless you inspect it closely, though.

I can't say for sure but I think it should work.

Terrapin Pickguards can custom make any guard you want in almost any material.

The best way to get an EXACT duplicate is to send them your old one.
