Rickenbacker 4003s Bass Necks

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by BlackieHyde, Dec 26, 2016.

  1. Hello from Athens, GA!

    Question;
    My Fireglo neck has a beautiful burl, the Mid-Blue...not even close.

    Both play as should and I have not yet upgraded the "Mid-Blue" with a toaster.
    Both are 2016 issue.

    That being said, I know both fretboards are rosewood but, I find the Fireglo has so much character.
    Thoughts?

    Thanks!

    Is this a trick question? No? Ok... all wood is different. Thus, it looks different. :thumbsup:

  4. Um no, not a trick inquiry. Valid question 'tis all.
    Thanks for you reply.

  5. BTW, you must admit the "burl" on the Fireglo is top shelf.

    Yep, they are different. Some fretboards are better looking than others.

    I just bought this 4003S and pretty freely admit that the character of the fretboard is what drew me in, your Fireglo is indeed a very nice one.
