Rickenbacker Cap Mod?

    Hey, I remember awhile ago when i was thinking about getting the Rickenbacker 4003, when JT suggested that i do the "Cap Mod". he said it had something to do with rewiring i think, could someone please explain to me the process/what it does?

    I'm pretty sure you don't have to worry about it, since your 4003 is an '01. The cap's been gone since the '80s.

    88/89: bribge p/u capacitor removed and replaced with a shunt.

    i have a 90s 4003 is it possible to have this cap? i haven't opened it up yet. i have been to busy playing it and loving every moment!
