Rickenbacker with horseshue.

    Can the metalthingies over the horseshuepickup be removed? I read that some guys on the rickenbacker forum had removed it and had no problems. I know that it can be removed on the ordinary pickup on the 4001/4003 basses. But some say the metalthing is a part of the mike on the "horseshue". Help me cause if it canĀLt be removed I probably wont buy that pickup.

    Sure you can remove it, but you have to go to the hardware store and get some spacers to drop the pickup back down into the cavity... You'll see what I mean when you look at the pickup - BUY ONE! You will not be disappointed.
