I found a used Ashdown 300r head in a road case that i plan on trying out...if i like the sound on it i might buy it..
a rack power supply and a beringer compressor are included as well

i was thinking of getting a Carvin 2x10 cab for it...
    BR210 2 x 10 BR Cabinet

would that cab be a good match for it?

IMHO, I've never really thought much of Carvin cabs/speakers; no warmth (again, IMHO).

There are much better matches for the MAG 300 than that; Avatar usually pairs up well with comparable bass heads.

    Many others to consider.

  3. I am of the opposite opinion. I would buy a Carvin anytime over Avatar. However to be fair, that is a personal choice as I have never tried an Avatar and I have bought lots of Carvin equipment and been pleased with it all.

As a 2x10 user (Acme) I question using just one to gig with. Two are ideal I have found and, on the occasion, four are a blast!
