Rig setup help please!!!!!!!!!!!

    I just recently bought my first non-combo stack rig, and have gotten nothing but trouble since day one.
    The amp I'm using is an Ampeg SVT-4, and it blew the ampeg 6x10 i originally bought it with. So I got the 8x10. Everything was ok, until i realized the cabs were junk, so i replaced the 8x10 with a mesa 6x10 yesterday.

    All I get is a distorted sound. Ive tried running mono bridge into the cab, just running half of a stereo into it, nothing seems to work.

    Help me please?! Ive returned 3 heads already. This **** is ****ing weak

    Are you using proper speaker cables between head and cabs? I don't know what else it could be, that's all top notch gear you've got. It's gotta be something really stupid like the cable I would think.

    turns out i had blown pre amp tubes. not what id expect from a brand new out of box amp thats been gigged once. good thing i got a performance guarantee!!

    SAY NO TO AMPEG!!!

    No, I've got 3 Ampeg amps atm, all USA made, all doing exactly what I like them to do, so, no, one bad preamp tube does not spoil the entire brand.
