Sometimes When I play with my fingers I pluck to hard with my middle finger and okay with my first finger and that results in what sounds like uneven playing when I play it back. How can I get rid of this bad habit? - Cheers
First off, how long have you been playing? Second, play under a metronome at a slow BPM and hit the strings as evenly as possible. That should help you improve
7 years, but I just started doing this, I've never done this before. I just noticed it a little while back.
Immediately start playing with a pick, and your problem is gone! (Just kidding - no hate comments.) It's not enough information from your posting. 1. How many right hand fingers do you use - 2 or 3, or 4, or 5? 2. Do you start playing with your Index or Middle finger? If you start with your Index, change it to the Middle finger, and vise-versa. 3. Maybe your Middle finger tries to emphasize dynamics? 4. Try to play even notes slowly and express the accents with your Index finger, and leave the weak beats for your Middle finger. 5. Play the quarter notes (any scale) at 40 BPM. Do you have a problem? Play the same at 50 BPM. Do you have a problem with your Middle finger? Increase the tempo. When do you start having issues with your Middle finger? 6. Do you have that issue while playing the even notes or syncopated? ... P.S. Or ask Fergie Fulton. He is very knowledgeable about those kinds of issues.
I use 3 (index, middle, ring) but I think I found the problem, normally when I practice I have a pretty bad amp so I have to play like a maniac so I can hear myself "clearly". But when I go directly into recording its ALOT clearer than my amp (Duh). So im still playing like I can't hear myself and so im playing louder and harder, so it sounds uneven. I'm getting a better amp. Thanks you guys for the input!
