right on or between?

  1. Just curious, but:

with your fretting hand, do you play right on top of the frets, relatively close to the fret, or smack dab in between frets on the dot markers?

  2. i play fast music.. aint got time to aim... just somewhere in between the frets :)

  3. for the best results, try and aim for just behind the fret, if u hit it right on the fret, you'll probly get fret buzz, and if u hit to far away from the fret, then you'll also get fretbuzz.....so yeah.....just behind the fret is best

I try to aim just behind the frets. My fingers are short, though, so there are times I can't reach that far.

almost right on top of the fret, just behind it actually. That's where the best tone will be produced.. plus you get the added bone-us of being better off when playing fretless since you're already used to playing everything where it's going to be in tune. :)
