Rio bass tone

    Does anyone know what equipment John Taylor used on the first two Duran Duran cds? Great tone. I'm assuming he played fingerstyle since he slaps some.

    Yes - he was famously using an active, through-neck Aria - nice, natural woods!! :)

  4. It was an Aria Pro SB1000. Nice basses, and the pinnacle of Asian craftsmanship for the day, IMO rivalling Ibanez, hands down.

    Since them days, the Aria name is now more synonymous with Budweiser Flourescent bar signs. v:O(

    And no, they're not even wired. I tried.

    If you ever find a super clean SB1000, snag it. Or tell me and I will. They're great.
