One of my all time favorite guitar players. Saw him countless times in metro NYC area in a few different bands.

I'm so sad. ABB and in particular Betts are in my short list of favorites. I find myself watching a live video of Melissa every time I get on YouTube.

Very sad day. There will never be another guitar duo like Dickie and Duane.

One of my heroes. A great, great musician, with a unique melodicism.
I met him once, when I was 16, and he was very nice to me.
    It's a sad day.

Dickie made his mark early on. And kept right on. So many great songs. RIP.

    RIP you Loveable irascible rascal.
I was just playing In Memory Of Elizabeth Reed the other day thinking what a great loping groove.
What a life. What a band. What a man.
One of my favourite quotes, when an interviewer asked him what he’d been up to, Dicky says “eating ice cream”. :smug:

Was having lunch with my daughter the other day. The restaurant was playing long tracks of ABB and other 70's full album cuts. As I'm listening, I remember thinking what a great band that was and how much I used to enjoy listening to that music. Brought back a lot of wonderful memories of that time.

Bummed. I was mostly a progger in HS in the 70's but I always loved the ABB, mainly because of Dickey's beautiful melodicism in his solos. RIP to a legend.

Just by bringing badass instrumentals in the rock album context put Dickey in a league of his own. One of my lifelong favorite bands!

My mom (no great fan of Rock music in general) was fond of that one - she likened their intertwined harmonic melodies to the Baroque improvisation tradition. She wasn't wrong, though I doubt Duane or Dickey knew it at the time lol....
