1. Played bass on Kurtis Blow's "The Breaks" 2. But known more for producing early Run DMC joints! 3. An unsung and unheralded bassist and producer, who had a big foot in the history of hip hop! http://www.wonderingsound.com/larry-smith-producer-run-dmc-whodini-kurtis-blow-died/
Wow, I haven't heard Christmas Rappin' before- cool bassline and tone. Obviously Bernard Edwards influenced, but in 1979 I guess his influence was pretty strong in hip hop and in music in general... www.shutterwax.com www.totalsoul.com www.oasisnj. com NJ Bassist club #2 Short Scale Bass Club #465 Birdsong Bass Club #87
OMG!! man that guy was the greatest producer hiphop ever had. i loved his music. if there is anybody that was underrated it was him. he could do it all. when i first got into music i was trying to cop his style. thats him on Davy DMX's "One for the Treble" i'm surprised i never brung up his name before, he is the guy that actually influenced me. i was just listening to the Fat Boys "Can you feel it" the other day.
