The first bond film I saw was For Your Eyes Only (I was six at the time) so Moore kind of set the Bond standard for me. Always seemed like a cool guy from the interviews I saw. Can't argue with 89 - that's a pretty good run!

My hands down favorite James Bond.
    Me too @bass12, but I was 10.
Your avatar reminds me of the other Bond movie I love.

For Your Eyes Only and A View To A Kill are probably the Bond films I've seen the most. :)

I never actually learned to play very well
I was in Thailand when "Man With the Golden Gun" came out. It was a big deal there because many scenes were filmed in Thailand.

    RIP Roger Moore.

Some of you older TBers (like me) will remember him in the TV series "The Saint" (before his James Bond days) driving his Volvo P1800.

Check this out-I stumbled across this YT.

Roger Moore actually used his own personal Volvo in "The Saint." Here it is now...

    Moore, Roger Moore. RIP.

  13. I loved the The Saint series. I liked Connery as Bond, and Dan Craig has also won my approval.

Moore was a class act, and by all reports, a good person. R.I.P.

I literally was quoting that scene last night.

    "Phu Yuck?"
    "'74, sir."

Sean Connery for me...I was in my teens when Moore took over. Liked those movies as well...even when they moved into the campy stage.

    RIP, Sir.

Roger Moore was MY James Bond, because of my age. Also, he showed that he had a great sense of humor in Cannolball Run.

  18. Rest In Peace Mr. Bond. I'll continue to watch you on DVD every chance I get.

There's an island in the South called Koh Tapoo, which means Nail Island, because it looks like a big awkward nail about to be driven into the ocean

however, it's newer nickname is James Bond Island, since it was in the film:

I've also been to the toplesss bar in Hong Kong that was in the film, but that's the only thing keeping it going, is that single claim to fame.

This fight sequence was filmed at a tourist trap outside of Bangkok. I visited it but now I can't remember what it was called.

American Motors had a product placement deal in MWTGG. Only problem was AMC had no dealers in Thailand. So they improvised.
