Walter Becker, guitarist, bassist and co-founder of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame-inducted band Steely Dan died today at the age of 67.

His musical talent will certainly live on at my house.

Rest in peace, Mr. Becker.

Huge talent gone.

 

I'm devastated to hear of Walter's passing at only 67. ... A man brilliant on both guitar and bass and played them as two separate instruments. ... Not to mention a brilliant wordsmith. ... I read how he and Donald Fagan would call each other, late at night, and spend hours trying different combinations of phrases to form ideas just for the next line.

Steely Dan has consistently been one of my favorite bands over the years. RIP to an amazing musician.
