  5. That guy sells some weird looking axes...

It takes more than a funky body shape to make a bass a Ritter!

    Nice upper-fret access.
  10. If I had been drinking coffee I would have spurted it all over my keyboard.

It seems ridiculous to me to eliminate lower horn, body etc, and then not provide completely unencumbered access to the upper frets. And the ergonomics of the knob placement... and also the question of the balance of the instrument...

At least the guy isn't mentioning Ritter in the auction, in some attempt to mislead people :eyebrow:. Still, a shameless rip off of shape.

Anyone know what the "Buy it Now" price was?

I'm wondering if since Ritter has so many variations on its' shape, they have no legal protection. Shame.

    Horrific, but not entirely unexpected.

When you are producing a desireable product people who can't afford it will still want it and thus the copy/substitute market will emerge.

You only need a 10% difference to not get sued.
You can thank Fender for that.
They went after all the companies that were using their headstock shape and in the end, the ruling was as long as there is a 10% difference in the shape/styling it's OK.
As for the body shapes and pickguard set-up (ala' Jazz Bass, P-Bass ect.) I guess they didn't persue it as hard and let it pass.
Same went for R-Basses and Fodera. There really wasn't much, if anything Fodera could do thanks to the Fender ruling. (if you don't recall, the early R Basses looked almost exactly like Emperors- Ray Rogers worked/studied with Fodera for a while)

So, I guess Jens has made it to the big time when he's getting that copied!!

  17. At 200 Bucks a pop , you could buy 20 of those
fake one's on Ebay or 1 Ritter Jupiter.

The other one looks like an Atlansia copy.

I wonder where these are manufactured, Korea?
