    Hey everyone!

Inspired by our own Basscliff and his bands, I decided to post my first gig report! This gig was two nights in Florida last weekend and was a blast:)

Background:The project started by musicians who at one time lived in NYC and wanted to do some music together. Since the advent of logic and garage band, files started being sent by email, and soon 2 cd’s were born! The founder of the band and singer lives in Florida, Recently relocated from Southern California where he played in ska reggae bands for the last few decades. The musicians in the band are a loose collection of dudes who all did gigs together at some point.
I usually play jazz gigs in small clubs and bars in New York. Our horn section has toured with national headliners as well as big bands. Our guitar player tours with country singers in Nashville all our musical interests are pretty diverse!

1.Leaving home.... leaving Gotham from uptown Manhattan to LaGuardia! It’s been over a year since I left for gigs and I was pumped!

    Hmmm 3 days in Florida....
I packed my bass , swimsuit (Florida:)) and a toothbrush as well as some t shirts and shorts.

    2.Arriving : West Palm
Ralph our singer picked me up for a nice reunion and we headed to the hotel to get ready for a rehearsal before the next two days of gigs. It’s great to see old friends doing their thing around the country !
Here’s Ralph on the way home

Got settled into the hotel and then off to rehearsal at dc studios in West Palm . They also provided the back line for the shows!
    3. Rehearsal and reunion!
See the boys ! Yeah it’s been a minute ... here we all are! Same faces just a bit older! Great to see everyone again

After a great rehearsal we head to a local spot for drinks and incredible Mexican food and Margarita’s...

The next afternoon we headed to our first show in Jupiter... an outdoor gig on the water... really nice vibe and location ....
The “square grouper” named after the bricks of Ganga that used to float along the coast during drug raids in the 70’s

Loading time and setup and sound check all done in 45 minutes.... not bad for old dudes :)

My rented backline was an eden wtc 500 and a gk 4x10 cab. I could have used a 1x15 also but oh well...

    After the food showtime !
Parker who just got off the road in between songs.
    Dusty killing it on trumpet

    And hit me two times

Tony me and Parker second set

As Miles would say ... workin’, relaxin , cookin... LoL

Alex and I 3rd set ... photobomb by Parker’s headstock!

A nice 4 hour gig and then chill(well not really in the heat of Florida)..

Kai Sandoval (left) on trumpet had a great story of his dad (Arturo Sandoval) being discovered by Dizzy Gillespie in Cuba as a cab driver !

Dusty headed back on the road with Willie Nelson teaching me how to say y’all!

The next night was similar in slightly bigger venue up the coast.

Had a great weekend and wonderful turnouts and got to make music with with folks I hadn’t seen in years !

    Thanks for all y’alls indulgence.
