Up for sale is my Rob Allen Mb2 4 string lined fretless Bass. Rob Allen basses have a huge, warm, organic and woody tone. This is a pro level instrument for a very low price. New, this bass would cost $2800. Owning Rob Allen basses have been a game changer for me. Now that I am switching to short and medium scale I need to sell this to fund a 32" MB2 or a fretted Rob Allen Mouse. The MB2 is particularly versatile in that it can be used for Jazz, blues, funk, country, songwriter accompaniment or rock. Depending on where you pluck the string from towards the bridge to the neck, you get a wide variety of tones. Sound clips from various MB2 players below. With the tape wound strings and the fret lines intonation is much easier than a fretless with flat or round wounds.

    Specs:
    34" scale
    lined fretless
    Flame Maple top
    Ash Body
    iveroid binding
    Goncalo Alves fingerboard and bridge
    Birdseye maple neck
Fishman Piezo pickup in the bridge
    Semi hollow body
    Protec gigbag
    6.5 lbs

One of my favorite MB2 sound clips really showcases the tone well:

Tempting. If this was unlined I wouldn't hesitate.

The serial number is in the high 500's. Not sure what year that would be.
