Rob Allen or Rick Turner fretless ??

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by banditcosmo, Mar 1, 2003.

  1. Guy's I need your help. I'm tring to decide between two used basses.
Both are fretless 4 string basses. The Rob Allen is $400.00 more than the Turner but the Turner has some wear.
This is a quote from the owner of the Turner "there's some wear along the e string side, under the string..compare it to the wear on a classical guitar. In the light, at a certain angle, you can see it, however at another angle you can't".
The Allen is in excellent condition and has an early serial #.

I own a Rob Allen fretted 4 string and I love it but I want to get a fretless. I really haven't played a Rick Turner.
I'm kinda of leaning towards the Rob Allen but that 400.00 difference is a lot.
What do you guy's think ?
I'm going to probably do something today.
    Thanks, Tony

I haven't tried a Rob Allen, but I do have a Rick Turner and it's a great bass. I seriously doubt either of them would dissapoint you.
  3. Well I ended up getting the Rob Allen.
    It's a MB-1 fretless serial #095
I can't wait to get it.
