Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by james_delve, Aug 25, 2003.

  1. :bassist: i have been a bassist for less than a year, and i now realise that my bass may not be great for long term gigging etc., so can anyone give me suggestions of good, sounding and all round great basses for under £500

    Fender P or J bass.
    G&L Tribute series.

For £500, go second hand and you could score a nice instrument, like a Japan/USA Fender. My friend scored an original 1981 G&L L-1000 fretless for £380 including postage.

Buying used will get you the most bang for your buck.

If you really want to go new, let me be the first to recommend the MTD Kingston.

I also really like the Lakland Skyline series, but they are out of your price range.
