Rocket Music Buckeye Burl Limited Edition (Roscoe Standard Plus Basses)

Gard and I have been cooking up a special "Limited Edition" Roscoe bass that will be available exclusively through Rocket Music. This was driven primarily by a couple of wants of mine in regards to the Standard Plus line. I wanted to use Buckeye Burl tops, and I wanted to use the new Aguilar DCB pickups. Gard said "Sure - order 10, and we'll make whatever you want!" Boy howdy, sign me up!!

So here's what we're going to make available over the coming months (heck, maybe even years if it's successful):

- Buckeye Burl Top
- Matching Headstock
- 3 Piece Maple Neck
- Wenge (fretted) or Black Diamondwood (fretless) fingerboard
- Aguilar DCB pickups
- Aguilar OBP-3 preamp
- Black Hardware
- Gig Bag included
- Available in 4, 5 or 6-strings
- Available in LG, SKB or Century "Standard Plus" body styles (i.e. flat top, no ridges)
- Available fretted or fretless

4-String = $2899
5-String = $3199
6-String = $3499

Oh, and I should mention that I'm totally open to a new name for this LE series. Shout out if you have a good idea... or a funny one.

 

Nope, it'll be a mix of body styles and numbers of strings...

 

And just to be clear - I've only got 3 or 4 spec'd out completely at this point. I'm committed to buying 10, but I've left myself some wiggle room so that there's flexibility available for folks who want a specific combination of the available specs.

If you'd like to reserve one, we'll work it the same as any other special order we'd do. A 10% non-refundable deposit upfront lets you set the specs, and the balance is not due until the bass is ready to ship to you.

 

I believe the finish is a satin conversion varnish. Buckeye Burl can be a little punky (soft and crumbly), so oil is generally not a good choice. You generally want a harder finish on that wood.
