Anyone else dig Jim Rockford? What a character. :)

Tough as nails, quite the skeptic, but reasonable, and once ih a while he can't help showing his "heart of gold". He's my detective hero. Who's yours?

Banacek would kick Rockford's a**! How can you not favor the elite, effete insurance investigator? What about MacMillan & Wife? Ritchie Brockleman? Columbo? Just be thankful that Steve McGarrett was not a private gumshoe! Or Chin Ho!

Hmm... Both Jim Rockford and Michael Knight drove Pontiac Firebirds. (Trans Ams?)

    But K.I.T.T. could talk.

    Michael Knight > Jim Rockford

Mike Post probably wrote the music for the show:

Dang, I knew there was more to Rockford than just his character. :D

Yeah, I remember hearing the "Rockford Files" theme on KHJ radio, when I was a teenager. It was a huge crossover hit. It was being played on rock stations, soul/disco stations, and even talk radio stations (for filler and whatnot).

Plus, I love the other characters in that show too. "Rocky", and "Beth", and all the rest. The police detective was pretty cool too. Becker, I think his name was. :)

I loved that old show. Mike Gordon and The Duo http://www.organanddrums.com/ have covered the theme song recently...very cool.

Mike Turillo from "Crime Story." That show was too cool.

  11. Around 5 or 6 years ago I used to tape my answering machine message off the show every day.

" Richie Brockleman " started on the Rockford Files.
