One of the Eighties' most formost bassists has returned.

John Taylor of Duran Duran has been one of my earliest bass influences, his playing on songs like "The reflex" and "Rio" always have been study favorites when I first picked up a bass.

Duran Duran is currently touring in the original line up after having been apart since 1988 (when guitarist Andy Taylor and drummer Roger Taylor, not the drummer of Queen, parted ways)

John Taylor also brought back the bass he popularised in those days and Aria Pro 2 has launched a John Taylor Signature model. Currently only available in japan. But look what a beauty.

And I think that Marcus Miller fans will also drool over this one since he endorsed them in the eighties.

    Nice.

I used to own one of those. Nice sounding basses.

Their only downside was the weight...

Yeah, JT was the man. One of my favorites growing up in the 80's.

I have an '84 Aria Pro II SB-1000 in black, picked it up last year on ebay - it had sat in someones closet for 15 years and is in perfect condition. As blackbird said, nice bass - shame about the weight.

This site has a lot of info on the old Arias from late 70's to mid 80's:

Yes they also come in Trans red and Trans black, just like the originals.

I used to own one too a Natural one but it was a real back breaker.

I like heavier basses, I just bought a new soundgear Srx400 and its too light for me to really rcok with but perfect for playing slap/funk. I need another long scale bass that can take a beating.
