  1. This is the guy who does the YES covers. He is awesome. I just downloaded a whole catalog of his artwork for my computer, gonna use em as wall paper or what have you. Any one else love this guys work???

  2. Yeah, its so 70's. which is choice. If you are into art, check out a guy named Robert venosa. His stuff is some of the most amazing artwork I have ever seen. He did an album cover for a band called CYNIC. You won't be dissapointed. :hyper:

  3. holy **** Venosa is AWESOME!!!!!!!!, does he have a downloadable catalog???

  4. There are quite alot of sites pertaining to him. I got a book of his called 'noonspheres' . Its great. I used to own some large prints of his that I had framed but they got lost in transit????? not happy. (prints where worth $25 AUST.)

He lives (or has lived at times?) in Brighton, quite near me and my Brother-in-law knows him pretty well - so he is a specialist printer and they worked together on tour programmes, books and other specialist printed material using Roger Dean's art - I have some signed copies!! :)

    My dad loves Roger Dean.

Call me crazy, but I think my dad use to do... drugs

  7. I love Roger Dean's work. He designed a house that you can see from 280 in Northern California, near San Mateo. Really cool...like an insect home or something with orb shaped rooms.

  8. I've got the Roger Dean DVD  Its actually pretty cool

I think Dean also did a couple of Uriah Heep records...like Demons And Wizards?
...some pretty explicit sexual stuff on that cover(if you look hard enough or were stoned enuff like Matt's dad). ;)

He did quite a few covers besides Yes - I think my favourites were for "Greenslade"'s first two albums.

That was part of "the experience" of buying an album then - I can remember buying "Yessongs" and the cover folded out with large Roger Dean paintings and I was sitting there listening to the records and looking into paintings of these amazing worlds!

Well - Alesteir Crowley was buried in Brighton - last person to be buried under the Satanic rites in England!!

I remember reading a book about his life then realising I could see the actual cemetary from the room I was in ...

Roger Dean lives a few streets away from me - well he has a house there, although I think he has moved around at times?

It all happens in Brighton!! ;)
