Handcrafted Roger Jazz 5 bass built in June 16’. Designed and constructed by luthier Ray Roger who once worked for Carl Thompson Basses before going out on his own. Traditional J Bass sound, but bigger - Ray massaged this one into a beast! If you’re not familiar with his work, Great ergonomics, playability and tone - nows your chance to jump on one at a big discount. I just received this in a partial trade but cannot keep it (tempting, but knew that going in). I’m offering it up at a price that’ll move it fast to recoup - and avoid the temptation to keep if it were to stick around.

$2050 to $1650 Shipped/Insured within the lower 48. Please NO Trades. Willing to meet for a local deal. Paypal ok

I was holding this for someone since soon after listing it - great opportunity to make it yours.

Good question - being that it progressively widens, that's tough to answer. The nut width along with the bridge spacing (both listed above) should give you an idea if it's within your wheelhouse. That with the neck radius (no idea) should be everything, short of playing it.

I've yet to play one of Ray's instruments that didn't have a great neck profile... so if you played one (of his 5-strings), you've played them all, in only the best of ways.

Think I could get the width at the 12th fret?

Sure, measuring from the literal 11th to the 12th fret, the space in between measures at 2" 5/8 and falls just a hair less than 2" 3/4.

I have a couple of builds coming due - price lowered to $1850 Shipped/Insured... lets get this sold and in your hands!

  10. Definitely 1 7/8" nut? I bought an r bass a while back that was listed as having a 1 7/8" nut but was actually closer to 2" than it was to 1 7/8". The guy I sold it to listed it for 1 7/8" after my ad stated the actual width.

Just measured it again and it may be closer to 1 13/16" than 1 7/8"... so slimmer still; no where near 2"
