Well is he a musician or a politician?

I have the opportunity to see him in a couple weeks at MSG but thinking about passing on it.
I watched a couple of recent interviews and just seemed turned off by him and what his show is about.
I am a huge Floyd fan but never saw him with him with Floyd.

Convince me to go or not go.

I'm highly opinionated and extremely self-assured
I’m a huge Floyd fan too. Mostly for the music. With each passing album, Roger seemed to get more and more whiny, which is a turn-off for me.

So my advice is: if you can go and just enjoy the music, and disregard the politics, then definitely do that.

    If not, stay home.

The Final Cut was nearly a Roger Waters solo effort, is an immensely political album, and it's 39 years old, so there's that.

It sounds like you know what you’re in for. Either you want to go or you don’t.

He starts off the show saying something like “If you don’t like my politics you can f*** off to the bar.”

I never actually learned to play very well
If you’re unable to separate the man’s politics from his status as a legendary musician playing live for you, then the clear choice is “Don’t go”. :meh:

He's both, and depending on one's personal beliefs, that could be good or bad.

I don't follow the dichotomy, whether its Bob Waters or Roger Jones.

Other than that, this is how much I care...

I saw him on his tour before this one, and really enjoyed it. I knew going in that there would be things going on that I didn’t agree with, but I went for the music. It was an amazing visual show, AND he played “dogs” from the animals album, absolutely breathtaking.

I was a bit apprehensive, like you, but I was glad I went.

Can you be a politician if you've never run for election?

My avatar name might indicate where I fall on the Gilmour/Waters feud (maintained and amplified lovingly by Waters) but listen to a few interviews with him, and a few from Gilmour, and draw your own conclusions. Then try to imagine Comfortably Numb without:
    A. Gilmour on Guitar
    B. Waters on bass and some of the vocals.

Dave has acted politically over the years, most recently adding music to a raw lament by a Ukranian Poet, but I dont recall him trying to shove his views down an audience throat and tell them to eff off if they dont agree.
