Roland DB 500 Combo 12

Discussion in 'Amps and Cabs [BG]' started by Lovejoy Band, Apr 2, 2005.

  1. Just bought a Roland DB 500 Combo 12 Cab since my David Eden rig is too heavy for me to carry by myself.

Figure I will keep the Eden for larger venues and play the Roland for smaller clubs.

Anyone out there have any feedback about this amp?

Did you happen to buy this off of ebay from the states?

I have it's big brother, the DB700, I've had it about 4 years, gig about 8 shows a month, and have only had one slight problem with it. The nut for the bass input comes loose every few months but a quick tighten and it's fine. Our crew has man-handled that amp all over the country and it's still just fine. We were playing outdoors a couple weeks ago when a hail/rainstorm hit. The amp got soaked, with water inside the electronics. A couple days drying out and it was fine.
I play two very different basses so I use the programmable EQ, one setting for each bass. I can not say anything bad about this amp, and it's kinda cool to have something different from the norm.
Let me know if you have any questions.

    I have a DB500.
Good Solid Amp. Nothing more, nothing less.
Kinda colored and not quite as clear as my eden witha GK head.

Not to bust your bubble, but, I think that the DB500 might be heavier than my 212 and the GK head together.
