Roland GK-3B Midi Pickup in Fretless Bass???

Discussion in 'Effects [BG]' started by carlospppena, Mar 31, 2009.

  1. Hello All:

I have just gone fretless. The question is:

How does the Roland GK-3B Midi Pickup works with a fretless bass??? Should I remove it from my Kubicki Factor and install it in my new 5A quilted maple Warmoth Fender Clone????

Has anyone tried this before???? What are the results???

    Best Regards,

    Carlos Peña

I don't know about the GK3 pickup but the tracking on my Carvin fretless is as good as with my fretted bass with a Graphtech kit , on my VB99.

Shouldn't have problems with a Roland pickup....

Oh and by the way , it's not a midi pickup.
it sends a normal pickup signal (magnetic signal) but independant between each strings.

Some units that use a GK pickup will translate those signals to midi , not all of 'em , and some performs better than others at this task.

    Just in case......
