I've just gotten into DVDs, and my first one is Ron Carter, with Herbie Hancock and Billy Cobham, 1983. Wicked!
thanks for posting about Ron Carter's website, I've been really enjoying it I have a DVD of Ron with Art Farmer, Cedar Walton and Billy Higgins called "Live at the Sweet Basil", its really fantastic and of course Carter plays fantastically throughout
if you're running windows you can retrieve the (large 10-15Mb) .mov video files from the Temporary Internet Files folder and replay them at your leisure without downloading again. Same with the audio samples, in .swf format. A hell of a lot of great free music and video I reckon. Thumbs up! Who publishes the DVDs you guys have been getting? Where do you get them?
My DVD is a TDK Jazz Club remastered concert, originally filmed in Lugano, Switzerland, in 1983. The title is World of Rhythm. Most all the TDK ones are classical, but they do some Dave Holland, McCoy Tyner, Art Blakey etc. Check out www.tdk-mediactive.com and go to the European section on the map, then click on music, then Jazz Club.
I just watched this last night - really good show. There were some excellent camera shots - one that showed very clearly that Ron uses really low action!
