Hey guys, crossing over. Been playing electric for 13 plus years, but now looking to get into double bass. I was taught at the conservatory I went to by an upright guy so I have always fretted like an upright guy. I would really appreciate any tips on the first purchase of a double bass. I'm not looking to break the bank, but I don't want cheap either, I know slightly less than 1% about the brands out there. If it helps I'm looking into playing jazz, and blue grass. Thank you for your time.

Count your blessings. At least you didn't say "fretboard".
