roscoe beck or fmt 5

    what bass do you like more?? any diferences in sound??

    They need to make an RB5FMT/QMT, then I would be happy.

    That's a hard one!
    Those two basses are as different as they get. Both excellent offerings from fender and both have a vintage sorta sound. The RB5 is passive and really nails the vintage jazz bass sound (designed to sound like a 64 jazz) but also is VERY versitile. The FMT5 bass is also very versitile but active, this bass gets alot of different sounds and with the "new" Samarium Cobalt Noiseless pups it really gets vintagey with alot more high end. The treble control rolled off makes the bass sound passive (works like a passive tone control). Both basses are chock full of versitility and you could not go wrong with either. If you can try both than you decide which is for you.

    P.S. the FMT V will cost about $500.00 more the the RB V
