FOR SALE OR TRADE: Roscoe Century Std. 5 JB fretted bass. Like new condition. This is one of the only Roscoe Standard models with the 19mm string spacing (typically only available as a $300 option with the Customs/Signatures). I've been on the fence for a while on selling or trading this bass because I just love the feel and sound of it but now that I'm playing more the slightly wider neck width is just rougher on my hands (some issues with tendinitis). I even changed out the HipShot Type B bridge for a HipShot Type A bridge (which gives me really close to 18mm string spacing) but the extra width of the neck is still an issue. This bass has everything that I've come to love in a Roscoe bass (mahogany body, wenge finger board and Bart/Bart pre and pickups. With the JB pickup configuration you can get a great P-bass sound, a nice burby bridge tone and the traditional thick Roscoe tone (slightly more focused with the JJ pickups but still a nice thick tone with both p/u's). Spec's are as follows: Roscoe Century Std. 5 JB fretted - Mahogany body (Solid; no top) - Oil Finish - 35” Scale 3-Piece maple neck - Wenge finger board - HipShot Type A Bridge - 19mm string Spacing (Adjustable to 18mm via new HipShot Type A bridge) - Bartolini hum-free Jazz Pickups - Bart 3-Band Preamp - Black Hardware - Roscoe Gig Bag Sale Price: $1750.00 shipped 48 states PayPal accepted Trades: Roscoe (with std. 18-18.3 spacing), Fender pro or Elite 4 or 5 (Jazz or P bass), Skjold 5. (+/- cash depending on deal). {} {} {} {} Here's a couple sound clips of the Roscoe (with TI Flats) played over a couple classic rock tunes.
If this didn't have the 19 mm spacing I'd be in trouble. I know it's definitely desirable for some, so hopefully this is exactly what someone needs. @JOME77 is indeed a great TBer to deal with!
There are about 4 Roscoes I'd like to buy right now. I am going to buy zero. Paying off debt is top priority. Great price on a fantastic bass.
