Calling all Roscoe players. Tell us about the amp and cab you use with your Roscoe and why you use them.

    Ampeg SVT 4 Pro/Ampeg SVT410HLF.

Soon to be replaced with (probably) a Genz Benz GBE 1200/610 XB2 rig. Just for a change. And because I like new, bright shiny objects.
  3. Hartke 7000, 2 Hartke 4x10" XLs, 1 Hartke Pro 1800 sub

I have to be able to be heard playing with two very loud guitarists :eyebrow:
  4. Mesa Walkabout head, GK Neo112, and by the end of next week a Bergantino HT 115.

Walter Woods Ultra or Thunderfunk TFB-420 into Wan 2X12 Neo cabs
Mesa M-2000 into Mesa RR 4X10 and 2X10 cabs.

Which rig I choose depends on the gig.

1 or 2 (depending on the gig) Euphonic Audio Wizzy cabs, currently driven by an Acoustic Image Clarus SL head. I hope soon to be running an EA iAmp head, although I'll keep the Clarus for lightweight reasons.

I like the Wizzys because of their amazing tone and light weight. I like the Clarus because of the weight, and I like the iAmp's tone and versatility (amazing EQ section, but it sounds great flat, too).

    SWR Baby Blue II
    EA iAMP 800 w/1 or 2 CxL112s
    SWR BASS 750 w/1 or 2 GIIIs

EQ. set flat or a little reduced treble horns almost off on SWRs and 1/4 on EAs. The tone in the Roscoe is enough! In fact it makes the SWR big rig roar with great clarity and huge low end. I sometimes think when people can't get there sound out of a rig it's because their bass is weak. The Roscoe is big strong!

    BBE Sonic Maximizer
    Crown K2
Bergantino HT322 plus a HT210 for bigger rooms

I can get just about any sound I am looking for and make it as loud as I want. Roscoes aren't for the faint hearted and they need some serious gear to avoid distortion and self destruction. Every time I power up I get a smile on my face.

Most recently, either an Eden Time Traveler CXC110+CXM110 for smaller stuff or otherwise either an EBS HD350 or ThunderFunk 550-B thru a pair of EA NL-210's.

    SWR SM-500 + a Schroeder 1210 for larger gigs.

GK 700RB 112 Neo combo for rehearsals, smaller gigs.

Looking to replace the SWR sometime. it sounds great, but I would like to have the option to put more wattage into the Schroeder.

Ah, I stand corrected! Currently my Roscoe is probably being played through a Mesa 400+ and Ampeg 410(HLF?), though it could be an Aggie 359 into the Ampeg.

Of course, depends on your taste in tone, but I would think the new GB system will sound better with the Roscoe.

IMO, that Ampeg system (with the Roscoe) would require some EQ'ing unless you really like overwhelming lows.

I play my Century VI #4726 - consistantly through a Gk 1001Rb and two Aggie GS112 Cabs - sometimes I only use I love that tone - occasionally I will use my SVT4 Pro and the EBS 4 x10 ( I'll probably be putting this rig up for sale soon to finance a fretless Roscoe)

With the powerful lows of the Roscoe, and the big low end from the Ampeg cabinet, I did in fact cut back the lows from what I would normally have them at for my F Bass or my Modulus. So you are right in you opinion.:)

Currently I'm playing my LG3005 through a Roland DB700 -gets the job done. I recently purchased (3/31/06) a spanking brand new Thunderfunk 550 - I'll be pairing it up with either an Aguilar 2X12 or two 1X12's within the next month or so. Can't wait to fire up the Tfunk!
