Just for fun - what's you favorite top on a Roscoe? I am sure I left some out (like Katalox) and I know there are like 12 kinds of Maple top. Just deal with it.

Feel free to post pics of your faves!

I really love the look of the Koa tops. I also love the figured Walnut. There's so many interesting ones. I've never been a fan of Buckeye Burl but there's been a couple lately that have just been beautiful.

I voted Maple for the Quilted Maple. I have one, and I love it. I also love a greatly figured Walnut too.

I had a Box Elder Burl. It was one of the nicest looking tops I had ever seen, but I think it made the bass sound a bit "soft."

I voted Box Elder but have never seen one in person but the pics of their basses with that top just blow me away. Good to know your thoughts on the wood for its tone properties.

I voted for Monkey Pod. Is that even a real wood? It doesn't matter, I'm voting for it anyway.

I voted other because I can't pick one.

My Century Standard 5 Plus has a beautiful 4 piece Koa top that Keith did from "scraps" around the shop.

I also love maple. My SKB 3005 fretless will be quilt when it arrives tomorrow.

I am warming to Buckeye Burl as well.

    Oh hell, they're all great.

I was wondering how you'd vote. When I bought my bass Redwood was near the top of my list. I love the 3-D effect it produces.

  18. I'd put my vote in for cocobolo, but it must be said I'm a bit biased on the matter. ;)
