    Hi, first post.
Inspired by John k's mockingbird mods, i veneered my own mock headstock.
    I'm ready to finish and I'm lost. It's a 1/32 inch veneer, so I can't sand much.
Do I seal and then clear, or just clear?
I'll probably use a Home Depot spray poly in an attempt to match the factory poly.
    Thanks!

I think people get confused by the term sealer. Its just a higher solids clear that builds faster. The poly clear will seal the wood just as well.

    A sealer isn't necessary

Ok, so just a poly spray and I'm done?

Whats your goal for the finish? If you want a high gloss finish you will need to build up enough finish to sand it level and completely fill the grain. Then wet sand and polish

Yeah, high gloss like an original.
