A few people have requested recordings of the 2018 Limited edition Rosewood neck Jazz bass. I didn't record this with that in mind but I figured id share a clip. Both pickups wide open, into an UA Apollo running the SVT plug in. Using TI Flats (I know I know, sorry you rounders...) the strings are fairly new though.

This is definitely the Jazz bass to buy for anyone looking for a Fender.

There's something... thicker, darker about it. It's like a jazz bass with a sinus infection LOL - I mean that in a good way!! Thanks for taking the time to post this!!

    The hihats overpower the bass.

Yes they do. I didn’t mix anything. Drum machine on a channel, bass on the other.

Plus, this post is being used on talkhihats.com as well.

It sounds too...pink for me. Kidding. Awesome sound, beautiful neck. I do wish there were more color options however.
Thank you for taking the time to post this.

Why the plugin when demoing the bass?

That's really nice!Have a solid rosewood necked bass and a wenge necked bass both are really good

Read the OP. I was recording for something else and just exported the clips for it...also, if I would’ve mic’d and amp, it would’ve been the same.

    Ah ok.
Yes, it does say that it was not recorded with demoing the bass in mind.
Agreed. A microphone in front of the amp wouldn't be much different.
I wouldn't have done it that way either :)
