Has anyone ever used these strings? I know they're no longer available, but I was wondering if they really did last any longer with their Teflon coating?

I used these strings back in 1992. They lasted longer than swing bass (which isn't saying much}. I hate to admit but the main reason I tried them was because I thought they looked cool on my black P-bass. The silk wrappings were all different colors too. Rotosound has a set called silver spacer now. Has anyone tried these? I'm not really sure what kind of coating was on the black spacers but it did wear off on high play areas of the string. These strings were quite expensive at the time too.
