Rotosound RS77 Jazz Flats

Discussion in 'Strings [BG]' started by Rockin John, Feb 5, 2005.

  1. Against my better judgement I bought a set of these strings for my Am Dlx Jazz 5er.

Frankly, the strings are superb. I can't believe what a difference they've made to the bass (about which I was starting to have some doubts :( )

They're far better than the original Fender set or the Fender non-tapers I fitted or the (awful, IMHO) Elites flatwound.

Only problem is that the D is slightly shorter than I'd like: only 1 full turn on the M/C head post. Also, the bass doesn't seem to like higher truss tensions. At one time the bass had no real dead spots. The 77s, though, do make a difference and G is a bit rubber-band ish in the usual place for a Fender.

    Great strings, though.
