roundwound string ID?

    A bass I just bought has .045-.105 nickel-plated rounds with no silks and brass ball ends. I know it's not a lot to go from, but any guess as to what they might be?

    Measure ball end to the taper by the e string tuner. That will narrow it down some.

    Because they're on a medium-scale instrument, the E is wrapped around the post. But on the D string, the taper starts at 37.5"; on the A string, is a little less, maybe 37.3" or so.
