Uhh, my first proper post to TalkBass..here goes:

I've got a 1993/94 MIJ Fender Jazz, definetly a keeper. However, I've been digging some (supposedly) P/J tones lately (Billy Gould on FNM's Angel Dust for example) and I'm toying with the idea of having the Jazz routed for P/J.

Now, Is it possible to have it routed in a way that normal J/J configuration is easily restored?

    Thanks!

  2. Does the bass have a scratch plate?

If so then the body could be routed to accomodate a p-bass pickup, then the pickup and a new scratch plate can be fitted.

If you keep the neck jazz bass pickup and scratch plate rigged-up then it should just be case of swapping them back.
