Ok, I really want to start doing sport and while I was watching rugby today (Scarlets vs ...) I thought, why not rugby?

So, I looked up some clubs and there is one 20 minutes away from my door. I've never played it, and the rules are still a bit fuzzy.

Anyway, I saw in a recent thread there were some rugby players here, so could they give me some insight in the physical benefits of this sport? What about injuries? I'm concerned about my fingers, and rugby isn't exactly curling or badmington, so how about that?

Maybe AF players can chime in too, since both sports show some similarities?

  2. pros:
great physique; will make you stronger; you'll work out, run etc
    makes you tougher
    lots of new friends
    new clothes + gear :D
    travelling to new places
visiting that hot physio to get your injuries felt up.. err, checked up.
    excellent stress relief.

injuries. i was forever breaking nails :crying:, made playing painful. my wrists also took a beating, but with some good supports you should be OK! i had tendonitus which made it a bit more tedious for me.

I often miss playing, but music came first.
