What, nobody is interested in being fastest round the world in a yacht!!

    Where's that "pioneering" spirit? ;)

I'm going with Brad on this one. I think that record is very lame. Up there with Kenny G's record.

I knew about it. I guess its probably big news in the UK because well, we know how most of the Brits sporting endeavours end up! :D

If it makes you feel better Bruce, it made the news down here too!

  7. I'm with Brad. If you really want a reaction though, you may be pleased to know that the thread title made me slightly sick. Congrats.

Tacos only float when they are filled with sour cream.

  9. I haven't watched or read any news today. Or yesterday, for that matter. Mardi Gras dominates local news outlets this time of year. Answer: No, I did not know about it. Nor do I care, so much. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy for her, I just don't have any interest in sailing or the kind of records it generates.

I hope this didn't come across as rude...but you did ask if people cared.

  17. I have a boat.
    It's not a sailer though.
And I doubt it would make it around the world.

If we were a colony, and still subjects of the queen, we might give two twits about this, but since we're not, :spit:

    Cheerio, off to the Chemists.

The record for sailing around the whole world...how can that be lame?

Sailing was how people got to discover the Americas and Australia..etc etc.

This is what made a lot of countries - how can you be dismissive of it?

One person, alone against the seas and the elements.....
