just get a carvin b1500 that would kill. it runs 1900W @ 2ohms
  5. Crest CA9 - 900 watts per side 4ohms, or for half the weight, QSC PLX3402 - 1100 watts per side 4ohms .

Both are very reliable, dependable, professional quality amps.

Hmmm can ya get 2 mesa 400+ with that much?

Maybe used, if not try and get a good tube head, mesa is great as well as the trace elliot v6's and v8's.

But if you're stuck on the power/pre setup. +1 for the plx series and the sansamp rbi.

    Hah get 2 thunderfunk TFB550's

That'll show your guitarists who's boss.
  7. Actually, 2 would be unnecessary since the Mesa 400+ can handle a 2 ohm load.

Who cares if it's unneccesary........HE HAS 2 GRAND.

    I think I'd go with 2 thunderfunk TFB550'S

That would be tone+volume+more volume= :hyper:

I run a Marshall VBA400 at 2 Ohms by pairing a Bergantino NV215 and an Eden D410XLT, which are both 4 Ohm cabinets. The Marshall cost me a few bucks over $1500, but that price includes Hawaii sales tax @ 4.166%.

One thing to keep in mind about the VBA400: unless you find one sitting on the showroom floor at your favorite music store, you will, like me, have to have yours ordered. These are hand-wired back in jolly old England, so you can expect a 3 - 4 month wait...

This is definitely one brute of an all-tube amp...

Euphonic Audio iAmp 800 will put out 1000 watts at 2 ohms.
  13. KUSTOM GROOVE BASS 1200 HEAD - 1200 watts at 2 ohms...proper bass amp too not just a power amp :p

('bout what... 500 dollars on ebay? - dirt cheap anyway)

I would go for a Mesa 400+ if I had that kind of cash. There were several on eBay when I was looking earlier today, one of which was ending today and was at $500 NR. (I'm not affiliated with that auction in any way) If I hadn't of bought so much gear this summer, I would snatch it up right now.
