ebay auction #7391247523
Veeery nice--fyi, Not mine, just dropping a heads up
I saw that yesturday. I wish I had some spare $$ laying around. Don't know when I'd play it, but a cool collector piece.
Can we get a link?
If you do a search on the item #, it comes up.
oooooooooh.... me wants!
Wow, thats pretty cool! If only I could play guitar...
Is it just me, are do the necks seem alittle too close?
Maybe it is just me.
I still want it though.
It's not the same Geddy used. Geddy played the 4/12. That one's a 4/6.
Where's JT? Maybe he can tell us how this badboy plays.
I CAN'T TAKE IT!!!!!!
The 4080 was a bolt on? I was a little surprised by that, but I've confirmed it to be true.
I want one.
It says that it is through body. Maybe he put the neck plate on for reasons unknown?
Geddy used a 4/12 on the Hemisphers tour, but I still like double Necks...cool Bass, not Geddys
I have a 4/6 doubleneck shaped like an EDS 1275. Made somewhere in the orient. Mahog necks, rosewood boards, short scale bass, standard Gibby scale guitar. Pickups woefully thin sounding, but I'm working on it. Not much, as the body is made of 2" Birch Ply and weighs almost as much as a Volvo, but it looks bada$$ for a short set. I've slowly acquired parts over the last few years, new bridge for the bass, new tuners for both necks, but trying to decide wether to get a new, long-scale neck for the bass. Better off taking it apart and sending the body through a drum sander to make it thinner, that would be a more useful mod. I do have a 500T (I think) at the bridge, but it needs more. The only actual customization (as opposed to upgrading) I've done is remove the bass tone pot and split the outputs so I don't have to use one amp for each, but that's totally reversible.
If you can find a light-weight dubble, hang on to it. Or let me know.
I saw that 1 when it was first posted. I really want a doubleneck like that & mave been GASing over them for months.
too bad I don't have enough $$$
If you look at the questions that the seller has fielded, it's obvious that he knows very little about this instrument. First he claims that it's neck through, when it's bolt on. He doesn't have any additional pictures of it beyond what is shown in the auction. He's not even aware that it's missing the bushing on the tuner post on the guitar headstock.
The guy is attempting to sell a fairly rare, high dollar instrument. Combine this with the fact that he's a zero feedback ebayer and won't give out his phone number. You couldn't get me to bid on this auction given all the questionable items listed above.
ooo, that's a real nice one.
i'd bid on it... but i have on already
yes, all the 4080's and 4080/12's were bolt on necks for both necks. anyone wants to over a bunch of pics of them go to http://www.the-music-connection.com/ website - they have a huge selection of all kinds of rics, including more doublewides than an oklahoma trailerpark right before tornado season.
JT. Your link brings us to snare drums. Another page is www.ricpage.com
They have alot of rickenbacker stuff.
>>>> I saw a show on that tour, November 14th, 1978 at the Long Beach Arena. AWESOME!!!!
