hi..i own a fender american series precion bass and i was wondering how to tackle the problem of rust on my basses hardware. it only occurs on the brige and the metal parts on the pickups. is this a problem i must live with or can i somehow repair this. keep n mind i still want to keep the original parts of the bass. any response would be welcome :)

  2. remove all the plastic and apply a very little amount of naval jelly for about 1 hour. Carefully wipe off, dry completly. rebuild.

you may also see it in stores as rust remover. Available at Home Depot type stores, as well as auto parts places.

If and when you do get all the rust off of your hardware. Be sure to wipe your bass down fairly often to prevent rust and other nasty things from happining
