rusty pickups

    i have a fender deluxe active jazz bass that i have only had for about two years. the pickups are getting a little rust on them. i was just wondering if i can clean them with anything or take more drastice measures and replace them. they arnt very bad, but it is a concern to me. please let me know if there is anything i can do thanks.

    I think this was discussed fairly recently. Rust on the pups won't effect them. Cleaning them will cause the debris generated to stick to the magnets. This can be taken off with a stronger magnet like a 1" Rare Earth.

    Look at anyone's '50's or '60's Fender that has been played hard, the pups will be rusty and the bass still sounds great, right? Stop worrying.
